A fictionalised account of the controversial group’s formation; their chosen moniker being a reference to the IRA’s method of punishment during the Troubles. Irish language rappers Liam and Naoise, schooled by Naoise’s father (Michael Fassbender) that “every word of Irish spoken is a bullet for Irish freedom” burst onto the scene in Belfast becoming the unlikely figureheads of a Civil Rights movement to save their mother tongue. Combines the profane with a serious political message about Irish independence and riotous humour.
“Hard punching and cheerfully riotous” Ed Power, Daily Telegraph
